Frugi originated in Cornwall, UK in 2004 from a desire to create beautiful organic clothes, and has now grown up to be the UK’s leading organic children’s clothing brand. They design clothes that babies and children really do love to wear, and celebrate childhood through great design, vibrant colours (and cute Frugi characters!) Our gorgeous collections range from newborn to 4 years. Frugi uses super soft organic cotton and are certified by the Soil Association and GOTS. They are proud to be an ethical business and donate 1% of our turnover each year to charity through our Little Clothes BIG change project.
Frugi’s Super Soft Organic Cotton…
...making sure that little ones are comfy, safe and happy. The breathable qualities in organic cotton make it much kinder to baby’s delicate skin and much less likely to trigger those horrible allergies.
You can be confident that no nasty chemicals are used in the whole production of Frugi clothing, from cotton seed to finished garment which is a weight off your mind!
It also means that our cotton growers aren’t exposed to nasty chemicals and can get a better price for their crop.
The Fab Thing About Frugi Clothes Is That They Last And Last!
The soft organic cotton washes so well that they can be handed down from generation to generation and still look great!
Knee patches, strong seams and clever design make our clothes perfect for little adventurers! And roll up trousers and adjustable waistbands make them last that extra bit longer.
Have you noticed that organic cotton is super soft? Organic cotton feels so much softer because the cotton fibres are left intact and not broken down by the chemicals used in the farming and processing conventional cotton.
Eco friendly processing and finishing means no harmful chemicals such as chlorine bleach, formaldehyde or dangerous dyes are used so organic cotton is less likely to trigger allergies in children; this means more content and happier babies!
Organic cotton farming supports a sustainable agriculture that keeps the soil fertile, water clean and air pure for generations to come. Plus organic cotton farmers don’t have to work with poisonous pesticides; happy farmers and happy babies! Hooray!
Over the last 50 years or so cotton has been grown using ever increasing amounts of chemicals, pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. These nasties have a huge environmental impact for both the people who grow the cotton to you; the end user.
Problems linked to pesticide use include; reduced soil fertility, frequent water pollution, reduced biodiversity in the surrounding areas and wild animal and livestock poisoning. On top of all that at least 20,000 people in developing countries die every year from poisoning by agricultural pesticides*
Cotton production is far from natural, unless it’s organic. It may cost a little more to manufacture and buy organic but it’s so much better for everyone involved.
Cotton provides nearly 50% of global fibre needs, and is perceived by most consumers as a "natural" product. Yet it uses nearly 25% of all insecticides applied to agricultural crops, and 11% of all pesticides on some 2.5% of the worlds cropped area.
